KOŠARKA NA APARATIMA: Zemlja košarke to više nije
Tokom prethodnih pet nedelja sredom smo puštali serijal tekstova "Košarka na aparatima", kroz koje smo pokušali da skrenemo pažnju na najveće probleme koji muče srpsku košarku i koji je već skoro dve decenije vuku u lošem smeru. Užasni odnosi večitih rivala, besmisao takmičenja u kojima igraju srpski klubovi, propusti krovne košarkaške organizacije, problemi sa kojima se susreću klubovi, igrači i treneri, zatim uticaj menadžera, roditelja, novinara... Sve su to teškoće koje smo pokušali da argumentovano prezentujemo široj javnosti. Svesni smo da smo samo zagrebali po površini, da su problemi mnogo dublji i da je za svaki premalo jedan tekst. Ali, od samog početka našeg rada trudimo se da ih primećujemo, koliko god su oni bitni samo "malom čoveku", ne najpopularnijim ljudima ili timovima u domaćoj košarci.

Svi problemi srpske kraljice igara su uzajamno povezani, jedni prouzrokuju ili produbljuju druge, a isto tako rešavanje svakog od njih pojedinačno poboljšalo bi stvari i kompletnu košarkašku sliku. Činjenice kažu da naša košarka od 2002. godine ide strmoglavo nizbrdo. Od tada smo imali par reprezentativnih bljeskova i nešto manje klupskih. Doduše, od dolaska Saše Đorđevića na čelo reprezentacije ostvarili smo kontinuitet u svetskom vrhu, ali se na njega nismo vratili. Što se tiče mlađih reprezentativnih selekcija, a pogotovo klupske košarke, stanje je sve gore i gore, bez nagoveštaja da postoji plan koji će da popravi situaciju. "Zemlja košarke" to više nije!

Košarka je do početka 21. veka, uprkos svim problemima, bila najbolji sportski proizvod države i uz naše ima se lepio epitet "sila". Do tog statusa nismo došli skrivajući probleme pod tepih već ih je neko kome je to bio posao rešavao. Istovremeno su ti košarkaški radnici radili i na unapređenu, pa je košarka prva ušla sa betona u dvorane, prva je od dvoranskih sportova dobila televizijske prenose, prva je organizovala velika međunarodna takmičenja i sve je to zajedno uticalo na stvaranje košarkaške sile. Da takvih ljudi, koji su menjali stvari u pozitivnom smeru, nije bilo košarka bi se danas zvala fudbal ili bilo koji drugi sport u kome će nas i prosek zadovoljiti. Na svu sreću, istorijom možemo da se ponosimo i dužnost nam je da njome opominjemo sve koji danas žive od košarke da nas prosečnost neće zadovoljiti.

U serijalu "Košarka na aparatima" data je dijagnoza našoj košarci. Svesni smo da je to mnogo lakši zadatak nego što je pronalazak leka. Međutim, granice našeg posla su tolike, ideje koje mi imamo za rešenje problema nemaju težinu i uporište kao ideje stručnjaka i košarkakih radnika. Njihov zadatak je da ovaj sport, koji svi toliko volimo, podignu na viši nivo ili ga makar vrate u stanje u kome su ga zatekli.
