Različite su reakcije na dovođenje stranih igrača u Košarkašku ligu Srbije.

Retko se u ovom periodu godine šire vesti iz srpskih klubova koji nisu članovi privilegovane ABA lige, a ako se nešto i piše o njima, to su uglavnom "ekskluzivne" stvari, od ne daj Bože gašenja kluba, incidenata ili eto, do nekih "spektakularnih" transfera. Prethodnih dana je, prvo iz Subotice, a zatim i iz novog prvoligaša, Novog Pazara, stigla vest o angažovanju dvojice američkih igrača za narednu sezonu. Iako su Amerikanci u KLS ligi neretko prisutni poslednjih godina, pojavljivanje ove vesti u najtiražnijim domaćim medijima dalo joj je veći značaj. Ono što je nas privuklo da posvetimo tekst tome je najčešća reakcija šire javnosti na tu vest, a ona je negativna. "Samo su nam još stranci nedostajali u domaćoj ligi!" Opšte je mišljenje da su se pare za koje su dovedeni stranci mogle i pametnije potrošiti.

Ipak, malo ljudi je upoznato sa činjenicom da srpski prvoligaši posežu za strancima najčešće baš iz ekonomskih razloga. Inostrani igrači se uglavnom dovode na deficitarne pozicije u timu, a na tim pozicijama, domaći igrač istog, čak i manjeg kvaliteta, košta na tržištu neuporedivo više. Te brojke nisu ni približno velike kao one koje se vrte  kod pojačanja najbogatijih srpskih klubova, ali je za stanje u domaćoj košarci i razlika od nekoliko stotina evra na godišnjem nivou ogroman problem.

Logično, nameće se pitanje zašto klubovi širom Srbije ne ulažu u mlađe kategorije iz kojih bi dobili kvalitet veći od onog koji mogu očekivati od stranca koji će se u njihovom gradu zadržati maksimum osam meseci. Odgovor je ipak logičniji, odavno u našoj zemlji mlađe kategorije srpskih timova ne prave igrače za svoje seniorske ekipe. Sada već po tradiciji, najtalentovaniju decu, ne gotove igrače nego decu, odvodi i nagomilava u svoje već popunjene redove, nekoliko najbogatijih srpskih klubova. Ako ne verujete napisanom, slobodno proverite koliko se najtalentovanijih igrača od 16 godina, ne mora starijih, nalazi u svojim matičnim klubovima.

U Košarkaškoj ligi Srbije igra 14 klubova, svaki od njih ima 12 igrača. Neće eventualnih 20 stranaca, a teško će ih biti toliko, ugroziti nijednog srpskog seniora, a pogotovo juniora ili kadeta, koji ima potencijal da igra za prvoligašku ekipu. Istina, teško da će se od tih stranaca dobiti ono što se od njih očekuje, da budu lideri i najbolji igrači ekipa. Ali, ima to i pozitivnih efekata, eto, doći će desetak gledalaca više da pogledaju stranca u svojoj varoši. Na kraju, naša zemlja je procentualno među najvećim izvoznicima sportista u svetu, broj srpskih košarkaša van granica naše zemlje je nemoguće saznati, pa je malo i neprikladno da se bunimo kada stranac "zauzme mesto" u domaćem klubu.

Da podsetimo, trend dovođenja stranih igrača počeo je krajem 90-ih godina prošlog i početkom 21. veka. Naši najbolji klubovi su na samom početku uglavnom pravili greške sa strancima, da bi vremenom njihov skauting postajao sve bolji, ali su i novčana sredstva odvajana za njih bila vrlo ozbiljna. Vremenom su, osim igrača na deficitarnim pozicijama, isti ti klubovi počeli da dovode i mlade strane igrače koje su vezivali ugovorima, a uspešno su lobirali i uspostavili novi sistem u srpskim mlađim kategorijama gde je takođe moguće dovesti strane igrače. Došli smo do trenutka kada u našim najboljim, ali i najbogatijim klubovima, prosečno trećinu seniora čine igrači iz inostranstva, ali isto tako, ta trećina na parketu provodi više od 50% ukupnog vremena u igri. Činjenično stanje kaže da je u prethodnoj deceniji takva politika donosila rezultat najviše jednom timu u rezultatskom smislu, a prošle sezone nije donela nijednom.

Da ne širimo priču na tu stranu. Nije pošteno svaliti krivicu na srpske prvoligaše. Njihovo poslovanje je posledica svih pređašnjih dešavanja u srpskoj klupskoj košarci. Krivci za današnje stanje su mnogo bogatiji klubovi i pojedinci koji su u prethodnim godinama imali mogućnost izbora, ali su se vodili isključivo ličnim interesima.
